SPORTS MINISTRY AT GRACE

CREATING GAME CHANGING ATHLETIC ENVIRONMENTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCES.

At the heart of sports ministry at Grace Church is a simple phrase, “greater than a game.” We strongly believe the lessons we learn through sports are reflective of those we learn in life. Sports do not change our character, but reveal it. Dealing with disappointment, handling success, working together, managing pressure, decision making, maximizing opportunities, preparation, taking responsibility, overcoming adversity, and strengthening weaknesses are just a few of the life lesson examples we encounter through sports. As a result, we want to not only sharpen an athlete’s game, but also their life.

SPORTS FOR KIDS

Our children’s sports ministry is designed to help young athletes develop and advance their skills. They will be able to build relationships and grow personally in an encouraging environment.

    FOR ADULTS

Our Sports Ministry offers a variety of adult programming that includes fitness groups, softball, basketball, and volleyball. All provide opportunities to improve athleticism, health, and fitness, as well as a way to build relationships. There is something for everyone.

Be sure to check out all of our seasonal and year-round sports Connect Groups to find the one that fits you best.

    Virtual Run | May 1 - May 25, 2020

Over the last 10 years, the Grace Race has quickly become one of Akron’s most popular and impactful community events. The goal of this event put on by Grace Church, along with the help of friends and businesses in our community, is to raise money and awareness to help feed children around the world through a partner organization called Feed My Starving Children.

This year, the Grace Race will look very different as we are not able to get everyone together all at once. So we decided to do a virtual run that we are calling “Grace Race Anyplace”. So join with us and invite everyone you know to run or walk and help feed children with every step!
