Bible Studies

Women's Book Study: Seamless

Whether you’ve grown up hearing Bible stories or you’re exploring Scripture for the first time, the full story of the Bible can be overwhelming. The 66 books may seem disconnected at first glance. In this study, you’ll learn how the whole Bible—from Genesis through Revelation—connects as one beautiful, seamless thread.

Women's Book Study: Practicing the Way

We are constantly being formed by the world around us. To be formed by Jesus will require us to become his apprentice.
To live by what the first Christian disciples called a Rule of Life—a set of practices and relational rhythms that slow us down and open up space in our daily lives for God to do what only God can do—transforms the deepest parts of us to become like him.
This introduction to spiritual formation is full of John Mark Comer’s trademark mix of theological substance and cultural insight as well as practical wisdom on developing your own Rule of Life.

Whether you’re new in your faith journey or a longtime student of the Bible, Women’s Bible Studies offers an opportunity to connect with other women to learn and study God’s Word together. Join us as we discuss topics and truths relevant to daily life.

Bible Study for Women(Young Adult): Monday Evening

Every Monday Night a group of Young Adult Women gather to read the bible and talk about how to make Jesus make sense to others in their life. If you are a Young Adult Woman and want to explore Jesus and the Bible, this group is for you!

Bible Study for Women: Monday Mornings

Whether you are a new believer or a longtime student of the Bible, Women’s Bible Study groups offer the opportunity to connect with other women as you dig deeper into the Word. This group is for women of all ages and in all seasons who want to live like Jesus and flourish in His teachings.

A larger, relational community that gets together once a month to connect, have fun, and share life together. Throughout the month, those relationships keep growing through smaller hangouts, disciple-making spaces, and spontaneous moments of connection.

Life Groups are small groups that meet weekly in a relaxed, safe environment to explore what it means to follow Jesus, ask honest questions, and build meaningful relationships with others — no matter your age or stage of life

Rooted

Maybe you’ve felt disconnected or just ready for a fresh start in your relationship with God. Rooted helps you take a real step forward by building rhythms that keep you connected to Jesus and help you live out the gospel as you share it with others. As we walk through this together, we’ll grow closer to God and to each other, learning what it means to follow Jesus side by side.

Rooted runs for 10 weeks and happens in weekly small groups. Together we’ll walk through key rhythms like prayer, serving, generosity, worship, and sharing your story. Along the way, you’ll experience moments that stretch and grow you as you serve others, pray together, are honest about your relationship with God, and celebrate what He is doing.

Care Groups

Hope and Healing After Sexual Abuse

This Group combines biblical truth with up-to-date research to help women who are victims of sexual abuse. Because sexual assault causes physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual pain, victims need clear help, hope, and healing. During this 7-week women’s only group, we will explore how the grace of God can heal the broken and restore the disgraced.

Coming Along Postpartum

This supportive community is offered to postpartum mothers in the Akron area who have had a baby in the past two years. Skilled perinatal professionals create an open forum where mothers can share their experiences and receive valuable support. The group aims to provide a safe space for vulnerability and reassurance that no one is alone during the challenging postpartum period. Breastfeeding/feeding support will also be offered.

Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, 12 step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, pain or addiction of any kind. Just a few examples of common struggles are: anger, abuse, drugs, alcohol, pornography, codependency, and food addiction. Whatever issue is keeping you from living life as God intended, Celebrate Recovery addresses your struggle with the biblical truth needed to grow spiritually and emotionally.

Marriage Classes

The Marriage Course

Studies show that couples who date are happier than those who don’t. Think of this class like 7 weekly dates. Each week, your host couple will briefly introduce a topic and press play on a dynamic video series designed to support couples looking for practical ways to strengthen their relationship. There’s no homework! And we won’t make you share with other couples, instead, you’ll have times through the teaching where you are encouraged to engage in one-on-one conversations with your spouse. There will also be time to unwind and grab some snacks and refreshments. This is a great starting point for couples who have never been in a marriage class or the perfect step for a couple who has done many! We have two options to choose from.

Finding the Hero in Your Husband

Women know how to work hard at marriage, but they often don’t know how to use their power with wisdom. Join us as we walk through Dr. Juli Slattery’s book “Finding the Hero in Your Husband.” This 10-week group will help you understand the influence God has given you and how to apply it to addressing common struggles in marriage.

Blended Families

Tackling the spiritual and relational challenges of step-families.

Blended families are complicated. Really complicated. We get it. Come and join a group of people who are right there with you (or have been where you are) and want to share biblical and practical encouragement. We’ll be using Ron Deal’s “The Smart Step Family” materials to springboard conversation and gain insights. Walk away from this group with new friends, new skills, and an appreciation for the gift of your new family! This group is open to dating, engaged, and married couples.

Discovery Groups are designed to help you get to know what Grace Church is all about.
