Bible Camp Volunteer Spotlight: Amy
“My name is Amy and this will be my second year serving at Bible Camp. I am a Spanish teacher and I love working with children. While serving at Bible Camp last year, watching the kids learning about Jesus spoke to my heart in a way that made me feel like I could come closer to Jesus too. From the Bible studies to the songs they sang, it just made my heart smile!
This year I decided I wanted to help more with the prep work before Bible Camp. You’d be amazed at how much hard work and thought goes into each activity they do during the week. Every last detail is thought out, down to exactly how many inches of ribbon needs to be cut for each craft. I remember last year prepping for one of the crafts, sitting in a chair winding yarn into balls – it took me back to when I used to teach knitting!
One of my favorite memories from last year was the mini car wash they set up that the kids could ride through – there was one little boy that just kept going around and around, and it was fun to watch him get excited about going through and getting wet, and the love and laughter that was generated in the people around him.”
