GSM Creative Arts is for students in 6th-12th grades and is a great opportunity for students to own their ministry and ultimately serve God and their peers.

student creative arts

We believe that when a student or adult can find a place in the church to serve and build up the body of Christ, their faith matures and deepens. We also believe that it is our responsibility to raise up generations of future church leaders which is why we desire to equip and train young people to serve. The student creative arts ministry includes student led bands, tech teams, adult volunteers, student worship leaders, video editors, photographers, graphic designers, and meal providers.

Practice Bands:

Practice bands are held at the Ghent Rd. Student Center on Saturdays from 5pm – 6:30pm during the school year. These bands are for students who are still learning their instruments and getting comfortable playing music live with other musicians. In this environment, there are adult musicians and coaches who help students progress in skill and help them learn the songs we play at student ministry events. This is the perfect place for beginners or for students who are still building the confidence to perform in front of their peers.

Overtime Bands and Tech Teams:

Students and adults volunteering for Overtime (middle school) bands and tech teams rehearse on Sundays from 3pm – 5pm at the Montrose location on the first Sunday of the month. It is expected that these students practice the scheduled music ahead of time and come to this rehearsal prepared to perform. Both middle school and high school students are able to participate in these bands.

Merge Bands and Tech Teams:

Students and adults volunteering for Merge (high school) bands and tech teams rehearse on Wednesdays from 4pm – 6:30pm. This band is for high school students only. It is expected that they practice the scheduled music ahead of time and come prepared to perform it when they arrive.

Student Worship Leaders:

Student worship leaders are a select group of students who are scheduled to lead middle school and high school bands. These students meet regularly throughout the year to be trained as leaders and are given additional resources and opportunities to help them learn and grow.
